Alexandrite: investigation of a natural material for radiation dosimetry

Abstract In this work we performed experimental analyses of the dose-response curves natural alexandrite, using thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL). The alexandrite crystals from Bahia, Brazil, were pulverized optical absorption measurements carried out in range 200 to 800 nm, comparing a non-irradiated sample with 10 Gy beta irradiated one. OSL TL Risø equipment (model DA-20) irradiation doses 1 5 Gy. Glow curve analysis was done GlowFit software for TL, R Studio measurements. (10 Gy) shows an spectrum similar one, containing same bands. samples showed linear both From analyses, it possible infer correlation between slow component most intense peaks alexandrite.
